Five Girlboss Podcasts That Will Motivate You To Design the Life of Your Dreams
They say you are the sum of the five people you hang out with the most... Well, if that’s the case then I should be well on my way to having a booming #girlboss business that is making people’s lives more beautiful and meaningful each day.
But do you want to know what’s even crazier? These five women I hang out with the most don’t even know I exist, but have completely shifted the way I think about taking control of my own destiny and designing a life that is nothing short of my ultimate vision. They are constantly in my ear giving me motivation and tools to succeed because they are podcasters!
If you don't already know, I am completely HOOKED on podcasts. They're a great way to passively learn and grow while doing menial tasks throughout the day. I listen to podcasts on my walk to work, at the gym, while cleaning, and doing laundry. I've basically developed this habit where if I’m doing anything that doesn't require full focus, I NEED to be learning something new. Needless to say, I'm slightly addicted, but this seems like a good addiction!
So, I've decided to compile a list of my absolute favorites. These brilliant women all discuss everything from growing a business, balancing being a good girlfriend, wife, friend, ect. WHILE growing a business, and motivate everyone who listens to never settle for less.
Goal Digger by Jenna Kutcher
This was the first girlboss podcast I ever found, and after bingeing ALL of her hundreds of podcasts in just two weeks, I went on an "upward" spiral discovering many other talented women who are making their dreams come true and sharing how they did it along the way.
Jenna is a photographer at heart, online marketer and teacher by day and mac and cheese/puppy lover by night. Her podcasts are so relatable and make you feel as though you are learning all of her insider tips from your best friend. She talks all about the power of online marketing - more specifically marketing through social media - and how to use social media as a platform for free advertising of your services and products. She breaks each episode up into digestible, actionable items, and when she's not doing a solo podcast she is interviewing other inspiring women about their journey to success.
The Angie Lee Show
Not only is this girl freaking hilarious, she talks about building an online business in a way that makes it feel fun and DO-able - not stuffy and boring like most business classes (no offense to any business teachers!)
Angie simplifies and breaks down marketing concepts point-by-point so her listeners can create action while manifesting their goals through positive thinking and affirmations. Her biggest, and the most important message I take away from her show is that if you stay true to yourself, stay in your lane, and have the courage to show the world your personality and your expertise - clients will come.
The skinny confidential - him & her show
Ok guys, this show is totally my guilty pleasure! They just increased their shows to 6 times a month instead of 4 and it's still not enough for me! The Skinny Confidential, Lauryn Evarts Bosstick, and her husband Michael Bosstick not only interview people about brand building and personal growth, they also interview dermatologists, doctors and beauty experts all about skincare and staying youthful and healthy.
If you don’t already know, skincare and health is one of my absolute favorite things to do, talk about, research, experiment with etc. Lauryn considers herself a human Guinea-pig and I can relate all too well... I basically will try anything to hack life and stay young and healthy forever, and the Him & Her podcast offers the perfect mix of information, funny banter, and actionable items that has me wanting to come back for more.
Be Wealthy & Smart with Linda P. Jones
If you are someone who has goals to own a home (or multiple homes), travel the world, or just wants to be able to pay for your kid's tuition, this podcast is for you! I recently started listening to this because like most people, figuring out how to make your money actually work FOR you is hard! Especially when you don't have a ton saved up or aren't willing to risk it all on the stock market.
Linda provides a step by step approach to financial freedom. Her basic theory is that if you get started investing with the little you have and get comfortable with the concept of compounding, you can watch your money grow and work for you. She is also a huge believer in building a luxury brand business, because 75% of millionaires are business owners. So if you start a business and have the perseverance to make it succeed, you are instantly increasing your "chances" of becoming wealthy.
She encourages everyone to first transform your money mindset to a positive place and then learn about the different 20-30 year cycles that happen within the market and become familiar with the trends. I am still learning and have not fully implemented all of her advice, but I am much more knowledgeable and will start investing in the market soon so I can be well on my way to financial freedom!
Happier with Gretchen Rubin
Although I love all of these podcasts equally, I wanted to end this post on a happy note. A few years ago I read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and completely fell in love with her mantra of becoming happier through creating good habits, learning about your personal strengths and shortcomings, and figuring out how to use them to your advantage.
Each week Gretchen and her sister Elizabeth Craft hop on the podcast to talk about happiness hacks, how to be happier at home, and answer listener questions. They are relatable and their sibling banter is quite entertaining. Their tips and tricks are so easy and simple you'll wonder "why didn't I think of that!", which is a sign of true genius. They truly have figured out how to hack happiness, and that at the end of the day, literally nothing else matters unless you're happy. So check them out and learn how to build habits to become the best version of yourself and live your best life!
I wanted to provide a mix of brand building, financial and personal growth, and inspiration to live your best life. Any girl who is trying to make it in this world can benefit from tuning in to these podcasts each week. Whether it’s building your confidence in the workplace, growing your side or main hustle, or just becoming a better version of yourself, you will be sure to walk away a better person.
So if you ever catch yourself doing one of those mindless tasks like working out at the gym or doing the dishes, just turn on one of these brilliant women and learn from the best!
